This wine is made in nearly the same style as our traditional Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The only difference being that the wine is only lightly fined and filtered before the eco-bags are hand-filled directly from the winemaker’s own barrels. The eco-bag packaging effectively preserves the wine and prevents waste, while contributing to a significant decrease in carbon footprint.
The cool, foggy Russian River Valley climate allows for slow ripening, enabling grapes to develop full flavor maturation over an extended time. To create our 2009 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, grapes were hand-harvested from our vineyards.
Nose:
Opens with aromas of ripe Bing cherries and rose petal.
Palate:
Notes of fresh strawberry blend with complex flavors of shitake mushroom, forest floor, and bright notes of citrus peel. This wine is medium-bodied with well-integrated acidity and supple tannins. Finishes nicely with cola and lovely brown spices.
