Feathered garnet hue. Forward, sweet aromas of maple, cinnamon and sliced apple with hints of black earth. Exotic dark honey, nutmeg and tart rhubarb flavors. Lengthy, fruit-driven finish with lingering brown spice notes. $75.

(552 bottles produces at 14.5%). See through ruby. An expressive and very fresh nose of ripe, elegant and pure red pinot fruit that complements the delicious, round, supple and forward flavors that clearly have an emphasis on finesse rather than power. There is a very subtle trace of minerality that adds lift to the finish. If there is a nit, this is pretty rather than deep and it would be good to see more complexity as this is more of a fruit than soil-driven effort, at least at the moment. 88/2010+ -----Written By: Allen Meadows

Very rich in wild cherry, raspberry, red currant, tangerine zest, cola and smoky oak flavors, this Pinot also has a closed, quality due to vibrant acidity and some very finely ground tannins. Decant if you drink now. Could come into its own after 2010, but it’s an unproved wine from the Boisset America team. — S.H. (12/31/2008)
